We have been using the Advantage Arms .22LR Kits in our classes and training for a number of years. Most of the instructors now own their own kits and use them extensively, because you can get a lot of training value without the expense of shooting standard caliber rounds for all aspects of your training. There have been some questions about what brands of ammunition seem to work the best on the email list and so far the recommended ammo is: CCI Mini Mags, Remington Golden Bullets, and the Federal Bulk ammo you can sometimes find at wal-mart.

Assuming $140 per 500 for 9mm and $40 per 500 for .22 and $300 for the conversion kit, you’re in the money at 1500 rounds (just keeping the math simple). The only problem is getting one as they are perpetually back ordered.

Yeah, I was fortunate that I bought mine several years ago. I have a friend who has been on the waiting list for about 6 months. It’s a good product and the secret is out, so get on a waiting list sooner rather than later.

I’ve written a fair bit about Advantage Arms’ kit on my site.
I’ve used it now for competition and practice… Take ‘em for what they are and get to learn how to clear double feeds and other malfunctions like a pro!
