Patrol Officer Street & Vehicle Tactics

This course deals with self-defense for both on- and off-duty encounters, and will give the Officer the ability to recognize, manage, and if necessary WIN a violent street encounter. 

We will make extensive use of tactical simulations and role- playing scenarios.

The scenarios will include both tactical decision making and deadly force decision making while under stress.

A portion of the course will deal with situations in and around your patrol car, including high-risk traffic stops and fighting in and around vehicles.

Topics Covered:  

Awareness of how officers are attacked and injured

Recognizing pre-assault indica-tors and behaviors

Tactics that prevent confronta-tions: verbal skills, body lan-guage, tactical positioning, mini-mizing target indicators

Tactics necessary to win if it comes to use of force: use of cover, maneuver, management of danger areas

Tactics for traffic stops and high risk traffic stops

Fighting in and around vehicles

Post-crisis management
