Low Light Rifle

The intent of this course is to teach the student to use their rifle safely, quickly, and reflexively in a low light or limited visibility situation as may be required in self-defense situations.

Subjects Covered:

  • Firearms safety as it pertains to self-defense and low light situations
  • Weapons manipulation with a mounted rifle light - i.e. speed reloading, tactical reloading, clearing malfunctions
  • Rapid multiple shots on single targets, rapid engagement of multiple targets
  • Engagement of targets from various shooting positions
  • The proper tactical response to single or multiple opponent situations
  • Using cover and concealment with a mounted light
  • Conducting tactical clearing with a mounted light
  • Rifle mounted light types and accessories

Documented general level training - i.e. InSights GDH, Gunsite, Police Academy, or other nationally recognized defensive training. Concealed weapons permit or documentation of good character. AND BRING THOSE DOCUMENTS WITH YOU TO CLASS.

Required Equipment:

Reliable, functional rifle with at least three magazies; Hearing and eye protection; High-quality rifle-mounted light (SureFire Products suggested); Extra batteries for light;
