Submachinegun Instructor DevelopmentAt the end of this course the instructor will be able to more effectively present material to students and will be able to coach the individual shooter to a higher standard. Instructors will be able to identify errors not seen before and will be able to correct those errors quickly and effectively. Techniques will be explained in a depth not experienced before and all techniques will be linked into a coherent system of firearms usage.Subjects covered: Firearms safety as it pertains to self-defense. Weapons selection, conditions of carry, carry techniques, mounting of the submachinegun from the ready and carry/slung positions. The basics of stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger press. Speed and Tactical reloading, malfunction drills, semiautomatic fire, automatic fire, rapid engagement of single and multiple opponents. Rapid assumption of the primary positions: Offhand, Prone, Kneeling, and their variations, rapid assumptions of the secondary positions: Squat, Olympic Offhand, Sitting and their variations. Pivoting and traversing. Individual tactics, tactical safety, movement, channelization, utilization of distance, tactical management of danger areas such as doorways, corners, stairwells, etc. Proper utilization of cover and concealment will be stressed throughout the course as will movement techniques. A full low light session will be included. Also covered will be submachine-gun ballistics and "stopping power", submachinegun types and modifications, carry systems, accessories, and weapons retention. Lecture and range content will be tailored to the audience, so as to fulfill the individual requirements of the law enforcement patrol officer, S.W.A.T. officer, or military special operations operator. |
